A deviously short poem - 'i will bare my soul to you, and if you maim it, i will die a meaningful death.'
TRIGGER WARNING: blood
artwork by lucille groleau
every half-season creates a new chapter,
a scheduled demise.
shadows crawled across my face as i erased all traces of imperfection,
life’s failed experiments, but i
would have stopped if you told me: “i will bare my soul
to you, and if you maim it, i will die a meaningful death.”
darling, that’s all i needed from you.
perhaps i should have come
with a warning label, but didn’t your parents warn you to never
look into the eye of the storm ‘cause you might get lost
in all the swirling debris?
